Clinical efficacy and safety of superficial resection combined with photodynamic therapy in the treatment of facial squamous cell carcinoma
Objective To explore the clinical effect and safety of superficial resection combined with photodynamic therapy in the treatment of facial squamous cell carcinoma. Methods 50 patients diagnosed with facial squamous cell carcinoma were divided into superficial resection with photodynamic therapy group and traditional surgery group by randomized controlled trial design, each with 25 cases. The superficial resection with photodynamic therapy group received superficial resection combined with photodynamic therapy, and the traditional surgery group received traditional surgical treatment. The efficacy, incidence of postoperative complications, adverse reactions and quality of life score were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the superficial resection with photodynamic therapy group was 92.00%,which was higher than 68.00%of the traditional surgery group(P<0.05).The complication rate of the superficial resection with photodynamic therapy group was 16.00%,which was lower than 48.00%of the traditional surgery group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the superficial resection with photodynamic therapy group was 28.00%,which was lower than 4.00%in the traditional surgery group(P<0.05).The scores of physical function, psychological health and social function in the superficial resection with photodynamic therapy group were(86.35±5.47),(87.24±6.24)and(90.35±5.68)points,which were higher than(77.49±6.81),(71.39±5.48)and(83.69±4.82)points in the traditional surgery group(P<0.05).Conclusion Superficial resection combined with photodynamic therapy has shown good clinical efficacy and safety in the treatment of facial squamous cell carcinoma, and can be used as a better treatment option. However, further studies with large samples and long-term follow-up are needed to confirm these preliminary results.
