Analysis of the value of fully automatic blood cell analyzer combined with blood cell morphology on the diagnosis of neonatal pneumonia
Objective To analyze the value of fully automatic blood cell analyzer combined with blood cell morphology on the diagnosis of neonatal pneumonia. Methods The medical records of 50 children with neonatal pneumonia were retrospectively analyzed. All the children were examined by fully automatic blood cell analyzer and blood cell morphology.Using etiological examination as the gold standard, the positive detection of single and combined test was compared,as well as the positive detection of nucleated red blood cells, abnormal lymphocyte and toxic granules/vacuolar degeneration. Results The positive detection rates of fully automatic blood cell analyzer + blood cell morphology was 96.00%,which was higher than 66.00%of fully automatic blood cell analyzer, and the difference was significant(P<0.05).Aetiological examination showed nuclear red blood cells in 15 cases, abnormal lymphocyte in 10 cases and toxic granules/vacuolar degeneration in 17 cases. The positive detection rate of nucleated red blood cells(100.00%),abnormal lymphocyte(100.00%)and toxic granules/vacuolar degeneration(100.00%)by fully automatic blood cell analyzer + blood cell morphology were higher than those of control group(73.33%,60.00%,76.47%),and the differences were significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The fully automatic blood cell analyzer + blood cell morphology can increase the diagnosis accuracy of neonatal pneumonia. It shall be recommended in clinical examination.
