The effect of one-visit endodontic therapy on dental pulp disease and its influence on serum levels of osteoprotectin and inflammatory factors
Objective To explore the effect of one-visit endodontic therapy on dental pulp disease and its influence on serum levels of osteoprotectin(OPG)and inflammatory factors. Methods 200 patients with dental pulp disease were divided into a control group(100 cases)and an observation group(100 cases)by random number table method. The control group received multiple-visit endodontic therapy, and the observation group received one-visit endodontic therapy.Observation and comparison were made on clinical effect, complication rate, masticatory function(biting force and masticatory efficiency),pain intensity[visual analogue scale(VAS)score],OPG,osteoclast differentiation factor(RANKL),serum inflammatory factors[C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)]levels between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.00%,which was higher than 87.00%of the control group(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, both the biting force and masticatory efficiency of the two groups increased after treatment, and the VAS score decreased;and the biting force and masticatory efficiency of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and VAS score was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,OPG level increased and RANKL level decreased in the two groups after treatment;and OPG level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group and RANKL level was lower than that in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, the levels of CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 decreased in both groups after treatment;the observation group had CRP of(4.02±1.07)mg/L,TNF-α of(3.07±0.68)ng/L and IL-6 of(1.03±0.24)ng/L,which were lower than(7.36±1.68)mg/L,(5.98±0.89)ng/L and(1.79±0.33)ng/L in the control group(P<0.05).The complication rate of the observation group was 4.00%,which was significantly lower than 16.00%of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion One-visit endodontic therapy shows definite effect on the treatment of dental pulp disease, which can promote the improvement of masticatory function, reduce the pain intensity, regulate OPG,reduce the level of inflammatory factors, and have fewer complications and better safety, which is worthy of promotion.
