Research progress on the mechanism and therapeutic effect of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization
As a non-invasive manual therapy,instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization(IASTM)is mostly used in clinical practice for sports injuries and other diseases. Many studies have shown that IASTM is effective in improving pain and range of motion, while also reducing the burden on the therapist's hand. However, there is no systematic summary of the mechanism of action and therapeutic effects of this technique, and this review concludes that IASTM has a good effect on pain relief, joint mobility and limb function, and further research is needed to improve muscle strength and proprioception. This article mainly retrieves and reviews the literature related to IASTM,so as to provide a theoretical basis for future clinical research.
