Comparative analysis of parathyroid function between in situ preservation and immediate active autotransplantation of parathyroid glands
Objective To retrospectively analyze the parathyroid function between in situ preservation and immediate active autotransplantation of parathyroid glands,in order to provide reference for clinical treatment.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 636 patients who underwent first-time surgical treatment for thyroid cancer.They were divided into a control group(517 patients who received in situ preservation of parathyroid glands)and a study group(119 patients who received immediate active autotransplantation of parathyroid glands)based on different treatment methods for the parathyroid gland.The levels of serum parathyroid hormone and blood calcium before and after surgery were compared between two groups of patients.Results In the control group,the parathyroid hormone were(58.82±3.47),(32.48±3.76),(46.86±3.65)pg/ml preoperatively and on postoperative day 1,postoperative day 3,and the blood calcium levels were(2.26±0.62),(1.84±0.46),(2.01±0.56)mmol/L.In the study group,the parathyroid hormone were(58.65±3.57),(32.24±3.77),(46.69±4.88)pg/ml preoperatively and on postoperative day 1,postoperative day 3,and the blood calcium levels were(2.34±0.57),(1.86±0.45),(2.03±0.55)mmol/L.There was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of parathyroid hormone and blood calcium levels between the two groups of patients preoperatively(P>0.05).The levels of parathyroid hormone and blood calcium in both groups decreased on postoperative day 1 and postoperative day 3,and increased on postoperative day 3 compared to postoperative day 1,with statistical significance(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the level of parathyroid hormone and blood calcium between the two groups on postoperative day 1 and 3(P>0.05).Conclusion Immediate active autotransplantation of parathyroid glands can effectively prevent permanent decline in parathyroid function,which has promotion and application value.
