Analysis of diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound for carotid plaque and its stability
Objective To analyze the diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound for carotid artery plaque and its stability. Methods 50 patients with carotid plaque were taken as the observation group, and 50 healthy subjects during the same period were taken as the control group. All subjects received color Doppler ultrasound.Comparison was made on plaque detection rate and carotid blood flow between the two groups,as well as plaque stability of patients with different degrees of vessel stenosis. Results The detection rates of unilateral plaque and bilateral plaque in the observation group were 60.00%and 40.00%,which were significantly higher than 16.00%and 2.00%in the control group(P<0.05).The peak systolic velocity(PSV)and resistance index(RI)of carotid artery in the observation group were(84.51±3.13)cm/s and(0.89±0.13),which were significantly higher than(61.14±3.92)cm/s and(0.61±0.04)in the control group;the observation group had significantly lower end-diastolic velocity(EDV)of carotid artery of(16.22±2.12)cm/s than(25.21±3.21)cm/s in the control group(P<0.05).The results of color Doppler ultrasound showed 26 cases of mild stenosis,18 cases of moderate stenosis and 6 cases of severe stenosis in the observation group. The detection rate of vulnerable plaque in patients with severe vascular stenosis was higher than that in patients with moderate and mild vascular stenosis(P<0.05).Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound has high accuracy in the diagnosis of carotid plaque, which can accurately determine the morphology and characteristics of the plaque, and evaluate its stability, and qualitatively and quantitatively diagnose the carotid plaque according to the thickness of the carotid artery wall and hemodynamic changes, which is of high clinical application value.
