Objective To observe the efficacy of bronchial artery embolization in the treatment of massive hemoptysis.Methods A total of 227 patients with massive hemoptysis were selected as the observation subjects and randomly divided into an interventional surgery group(treated with bronchial artery embolization,90 cases)and a medical treatment group(treated with internal medicine hemostasis alone,137 cases).The therapeutic effect and the amount of hemoptysis at different time points were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the interventional surgery group was 94.44%,which was higher than 81.02%of medical treatment group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).1,4 and 7 d after treatment,the amount of hemoptysis in the interventional surgery group were(0.61±0.27),(0.39±0.10)and(0.04±0.01)ml,which were lower than(20.46±2.41),(10.22±2.24)and(4.22±0.95)ml in the medical treatment group.The difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Bronchial artery embolization in the treatment of massive hemoptysis can improve the curative effect and reduce the amount of hemoptysis.
