Analysis of clinical value of manual instruments combined with ultrasonic therapy instrument for subgingival curettage in the treatment of chronic periodontitis
Objective To explore the clinical value of manual instruments combined with ultrasonic therapy instrument for subgingival curettage in the treatment of chronic periodontitis. Methods 62 patients with chronic periodontitis were divided into a control group and an observation group based on the digital random table method, with 31 cases in each group. The control group received traditional ultrasonic therapy instrument for subgingival curettage, and the observation group received manual instruments combined with ultrasonic therapy instrument for subgingival curettage. The periodontal index[attachment loss(AL),gingival bleeding index(BI),plaque index(PLI),periodontal probing depth(PD)]and symptom score before and after treatment, pain and curative effect were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment,AL,BI,PLI and PD in the observation group were(3.81±0.56)mm,(0.88±0.11)min,(1.38±0.21)min and(2.11±0.24)mm,which were lower than(4.21±0.61)mm,(1.36±0.42)min,(1.92±0.22)min and(2.87±0.34)mm in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.5%,which was higher than 74.2%of the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of pain in the observation group was 19.4%,which was lower than 45.2%in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of gingival bleeding, halitosis, gingival pain and gingival swelling in the observation group were(1.55±0.26),(1.52±0.15),(1.24±0.20)and(1.22±0.11)points,which were lower than(2.22±0.25),(2.06±0.23),(2.15±0.36)and(2.32±0.23)points in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of ultrasound therapy instrument and manual instruments for subgingival curettage has achieved significant therapeutic effects in the treatment of chronic periodontitis and has high feasibility.
