Effects of ampicillin combined with nicotinylmethylamide on gallbladder function and oxidative stress in patients with chronic cholecystitis
Objective To study the clinical efficacy of ampicillin combined with nicotinylmethylamide on gallbladder function and oxidative stress in patients with chronic cholecystitis. Methods 100 cases of chronic cholecystitis were divided into a control group and a study group according to the random number table method, each with 50 cases. The control group was treated with ampicillin, and the study group was treated with ampicillin combined with nicotinylmethylamide. Both groups were compared in terms of clinical efficacy, symptom(abdominal distension, nausea, right upper abdominal pain)relief time, adverse reactions, gallbladder function(gallbladder volume, gallbladder wall thickness, gallbladder contraction rate)and oxidative stress indicators[malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),and superoxide dismutase(SOD)]before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group(96.00%VS 78.00%)(P<0.05).The relief time of abdominal distension, nausea and right upper abdominal pain in the study group were(4.48±0.81),(3.84±0.75)and(5.81±0.62)d,which were shorter than(5.66±0.73),(4.89±0.82)and(6.69±0.58)d in the control group(P<0.05).After 1 month of treatment, the gallbladder volume and gallbladder wall thickness decreased and gallbladder contraction rate increased in both groups compared with those before treatment;the gallbladder volume and gallbladder wall thickness in the study group were(22.29±2.06)cm3 and(2.21±0.54)mm,which were lower than(26.49±1.93)cm3 and(3.01±0.57)mm in the control group;the study group had higher gallbladder contraction rate of(56.82±3.48)%than(46.67±2.85)%in the control group(P<0.05).After 1 month of treatment,MDA decreased, and SOD and GSH-Px increased in both groups compared with those before treatment;the study group had lower MDA of(9.75±1.53)nmol/ml than(14.69±1.69)nmol/ml in the control group;the study group had SOD of(119.65±6.89)U/ml and GSH-Px of(78.75±5.62)U/L,which were higher than(106.53±6.78)U/ml and(66.52±4.82)U/L in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the study group(8.00%)and the control group(4.00%)(P>0.05).Conclusion The effect of ampicillin combined with nicotinylmethylamide on chronic cholecystitis is remarkable. It can effectively improve the gallbladder function of patients, reduce oxidative stress, and do not significantly increase adverse reactions.
