Effect of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablet on improving inflammation in SAP rats
Objective To explore the value of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablet on improving inflammation in severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)rats. Methods 24 healthy wistar male rats were randomly divided into an experimental group,a control group and a blank group, and with 8 rats in each group. The rats in the experimental group and the control group were given Bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablet 0.75 g,b.i.d.,and corn tablets 0.75 g,b.i.d.7 d before modeling and 24 h after modeling respectively. The rats in blank group were fed the same diet without modeling or operation. The levels of serum amylase(AMY),white blood cell count(WBC)and C-reactive protein(CRP)in three groups were compared to observe the pathological injury of pancreatic tissue. Results The serum AMY of the control group and the experimental group were(3521.13±419.22)and(2859.13±136.56)U/L,which were obviously higher than(2483.25±197.98)U/L in the blank group;the experimental group was obviously lower than the control group;the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The experimental group had serum WBC of(4.770±0.655)×109/L and CRP of(5.840±0.311)mg/L,and the control group had serum WBC of(6.590±0.755)×109/L and CRP of(7.019±0.806)mg/L,which were obviously higher than(2.655±0.524)×109/L and(4.889±0.489)mg/L in blank group;however, compared with the control group, the serum levels of WBC and CRP in the experimental group were significantly reduced after the intervention of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablet, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).At the same time, the degree of pancreatic tissue injury, the degree of pancreatic inflammatory cell infiltration, the widening of lobular space and the degree of pancreatic cell necrosis were reduced in the experimental group compared with the control group. Conclusion The application of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablet has obvious therapeutic value in improving the degree of pancreatic damage and inflammation in SAP rats, and can provide theoretical basis and reference target for reducing the inflammation in patients with severe acute pancreatitis clinically.
