Discussion on the influence of medication guidance on the results of multiple medications in the elderly
Objective To explore the influence of medication guidance on the results of multiple medications in the elderly. Methods 70 elderly patients who received multiple medications were selected as the research subjects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group based on a random number table method, each with 35 cases. The control group took medication based on daily medication arrangements, while the observation group provided medication guidance based on scientific medication guidance. The medication compliance score before and after guidance, potential harm level, medication awareness level, and medication outcomes of the two groups of patients were compared. Results After guidance, the medication compliance score in both groups was higher than that before treatment;the observation group had significantly higher medication compliance score of(6.58±1.14)points than(5.01±1.02)points in the control group(P<0.05).The potential harm of medication in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).In particular, the percentage of grade 0-Ⅰ in the observation group(94.29%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(74.29%)(P<0.05).The percentage of understanding of drug efficacy, dosage, mode of administration, and related precautions were 91.43%,85.71%,80.00%and 60.00%in the observation group, which were significantly higher than 68.57%,62.86%,57.14%,and 34.29%in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence rates of excessive(low)dosage and short(long)course of treatment in observation group were 14.29%,11.43%,17.14%and 20.00%,which were significantly lower than 37.14%,31.43%,40.00%and 42.86%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Under the guidance of scientific medication, the medication compliance and awareness in elderly patients with multiple medication have been significantly improved,,while the incidence of related medication problems decreased significantly. This has important value for improving the safety of multiple medication in the elderly and is worth promoting.
