Effect of zoledronic acid combined with surgery on jaw fracture and its influence on oral function recovery and bone metabolism
Objective To explore the effect of zoledronic acid combined with surgery on jaw fracture and its influence on oral function recovery and bone metabolism.Methods 40 patients with jaw fracture were selected and divided into a control group and a study group according to random numerical table,with 20 patients in each group.The control group was treated with surgery,and the study group was treated with zoledronic acid on the basis of the control group.Both groups were compared in terms of clinical efficacy,oral function recovery,occurrence of adverse events and bone metabolism[bone alkaline phosphatase(BALP),tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRACP),beta C-terminal cross-linked telopeptides of type Ⅰ collagen(β-CTX),osteocalcin]and quality of life before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate of the study group was 95.00%,which was significantly higher than the control group's 70.00%(P<0.05).After treatment,BALP,TRACP,β-CTX and OCN levels in both groups were lower than those before treatment;the study group had BALP of(88.69±9.07)U/L,TRACP of(2.52±0.58)U/L,β-CTX of(0.38±0.10)ng/ml and OCN of(9.38±1.25)ng/L,which were significantly lower than(105.47±10.51)U/L,(3.04±0.83)U/L,(0.59±0.16)ng/ml and(12.87±1.52)ng/L in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the opening degree of the study group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).In the study group,the good recovery rate of occlusal relationship and temporomandibular joint function were 90.00%and 85.00%,which were obviously higher than 60.00%and 55.00%in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of physical function,psychological function,material life and social function in both groups were higher than those before treatment;in the study group,the physical function score was(72.82±7.52)points,the psychological function score was(69.75±6.82)points,the material life score was(78.59±7.91)points and the social function score was(71.04±7.25)points,which were significantly higher than(62.52±6.41),(60.02±5.91),(67.82±6.84)and(60.38±6.22)points in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse events in the study group was 5.00%,which was lower than 30.00%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Zoledronic acid combined with surgery for jaw fracture is effective,which can promote the recovery of oral function,improve bone metabolism level and reduce adverse events,thus contributing to the improvement of patients'quality of life,and is worth popularizing.
