Study on effect of levothyroxine on myocardial enzyme spectrum and blood lipids of hypothyroidism patients
Objective To study the effects of levothyroxine treatment on myocardial enzyme spectrum, blood lipids and body composition in patients with primary hypothyroidism. Methods 80 patients with primary hypothyroidism were selected, and divided all the study cases into a control group and a study group by computer randomization, each with 40 cases. The study group was given oral levothyroxine, and the control group was given oral thyroid tablets.Patients in both groups were compared in terms of lipid indices[triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)],myocardial enzyme spectrum[creatine phosphokinase(CK),α-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase(HBDH),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)]and fat mass(FM),fat free mass(FFM)and body mass index(BMI),weight(W),basal metabolic rate(BMR).Results 4 weeks after treatment, the study group had TG of(1.21±0.19)mmol/L,TC of(7.83±1.45)mmol/L and LDL-C of(3.32±1.05)mmol/L,which were significantly lower than(1.82±0.89),(10.13±1.99)and(4.77±1.67)mmol/L in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4 weeks after treatment, the study group had CK of(265.85±42.79)IU/L,HBDH of(265.31±29.45)IU/L and LDH of(279.97±31.45)IU/L,which were lower than(329.81±39.12),(322.74±41.86)and(349.97±41.05)IU/L in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The study group had FM of(17.9±4.7)kg,FFM of(39.2±4.4)kg,BMI of(21.1±3.4)kg/m2,BMR of(5022±532)kJ and W of(59.1±6.4)kg,which were lower than(21.9±3.9)kg,(42.8±5.7)kg,(26.2±4.1)kg/m2,(5636±693)kJ and(64.5±7.9)kg in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with primary hypothyroidism, levothyroxine can effectively reduce the patient's blood lipid level, and also play a certain role in improving the patient's myocardial enzyme spectrum,FM,FFM,BMI,BMR and W.
