Study on the effect of acupuncture and massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation
Objective To analyze the effect of acupuncture and massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Methods 50 patients with lumbar disc herniation were selected and divided into a conventional group and a study group by outpatient number, each with 25 cases. The conventional group was treated with acupuncture and massage, and the study group was treated with acupuncture and massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine decoction. The efficacy, pain intensity, dysfunction, quality of life, clinical indicators, treatment satisfaction and improvement rate of clinical symptoms were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the study group was 92.00%,which was higher than 60.00%of the conventional group, and the difference was statistically valuable(P<0.05).After treatment, the pain score in the study group was(1.62±0.14)points and the dysfunction score was(30.12±9.65)points,which were lower than(2.78±1.16)and(50.24±10.24)points in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically valuable(P<0.05).The scores of social function, psychological function and physical function in the study group were(79.43±6.15),(80.68±6.32)and(81.93±6.62)points,which were higher than(68.10±6.75),(69.52±6.24)and(73.60±5.32)points in the conventional group. The difference was statistically valuable(P<0.05).In the study group, the drug cost was(1600.34±320.12)yuan,the hospitalization cost was(2400.24±150.23)yuan and other costs was(300.17±50.25)yuan,which were lower than(2545.00±256.12),(4200.78±542.13)and(410.78±60.69)yuan in the conventional group;the study group had a shorter length of hospital stay of(14.41±2.08)d than(20.12±3.78)d in the conventional group. The difference was statistically valuable(P<0.05).The satisfaction scores of pain relief, mobility and degree of rehabilitation of the study group were(8.57±1.34),(8.41±1.08)and(8.37±1.18)points,which were higher than(6.46±1.23),(6.35±1.12)and(6.47±1.24)points of the conventional group. The difference was statistically valuable(P<0.05).The improvement rates of sciatica and low back pain in the study group were 72.00%and 68.00%,which were higher than 40.00%and 36.00%in the conventional group, and the difference was statistically valuable(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of acupuncture and massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine for patients with lumbar disc herniation can improve the pain intensity of the patients and reduce the functional disorders of the patients, with remarkable efficacy and high clinical application value.
