Analysis of the value of gastroscopy combined with serum CEA level test in early diagnosis of gastrointestinal tumors
Objective To explore the value of gastroscopy combined with serum carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)level test in early diagnosis of gastrointestinal tumors. Methods 80 patients with suspected gastrointestinal tumors were included in the study, and all patients underwent gastroscopy examination and serum CEA levels test. The diagnostic efficacy(sensitivity and specificity)of serum CEA level test and gastroenteroscopy alone and in combination was analyzed. Results Of the 80 patients,60 cases were pathologically diagnosed as malignant gastrointestinal tumors, and the remaining 20 cases were non-malignant gastrointestinal tumors.Among the 60 cases of malignant gastrointestinal tumors, there were 15 cases of gastric cancer,30 cases of colorectal cancer,11 cases of esophageal cancer, and 4 cases of small intestine cancer. The sensitivity of gastroscopy was 91.7%and the specificity was 75.0%;the sensitivity of serum CEA test was 96.7%and the specificity was 90.0%.The results of the parallel formula showed that the sensitivity was 99.7%and the specificity was 67.5%;the results of the series formula showed that the sensitivity was 88.7%and the specificity was 97.5%.Conclusion Gastroscopy and serum CEA level test have certain value for patients with gastrointestinal tumors, but both have limitations. The combined diagnosis of the two can effectively improve the accuracy of early diagnosis of gastrointestinal tumors. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
