Study on effect of citalopram combined with mirtazapine on cognitive function and inflammatory factors in patients with depression and sleep disorders
Objective To analyze the effect of citalopram combined with mirtazapine on cognitive function and inflammatory factors in patients with depression and sleep disorders. Methods 86 patients with depression and sleep disorders were selected as study subjects, all were divided into a reference group(single citalopram treatment)and an experimental group(citalopram and mirtazapine combined treatment)by random table number method,43 patients in each group. The cognitive function and inflammatory factor expression before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the time spent on trail making test A(MTT-A)and trail making test B(MTT-B)between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the time taken for TMT-A and TMT-B were(55.15±7.17)and(77.67±6.06)s in the experimental group, which were significantly shorter than(62.23±8.30)and(84.22±8.74)s in the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, the differences in interleukin-2(IL-2)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)between the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).After treatment, the experimental group had IL-2 of(2.57±0.33)μg/L and TNF-α of(21.98±3.10)pg/ml,which were significantly lower than(3.50±0.68)μg/L and(26.16±3.39)pg/ml in the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with depression and sleep disorders, the combination of citalopram and mirtazapine can improve their cognitive function to a greater extent and effectively control the expression level of inflammatory factors.
