The effect of percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation on postoperative pain in elderly patients undergoing artificial hip replacement surgery
Objective To analyze the effect of percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation on postoperative pain in elderly patients undergoing artificial hip replacement surgery. Methods 100 elderly patients with artificial hip replacement surgery were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine anesthesia, and the observation group received percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation.Comparison was made on pain status[visual analogue scale(VAS)score]before surgery and 24 h after surgery, mean arterial pressure(MAP),heart rate(HR),plasma norepinephrine(NE)level 30 min after extubation, brain oxygen metabolism indexes(venous oxygen content, cerebral arteriovenous oxygen difference, cerebral oxygen uptake rate),and intelligence status[mini-mental state examination(MMSE)score]between the two groups. Results At 24 h after surgery,VAS score in both groups was lower than that before treatment, and VAS score of(2.96±0.85)points in the observation group was significantly lower than(3.38±0.93)points in the control group(P<0.05).At 30 min after extubation,MAP,HR and plasma NE levels were(72.16±2.59)mm Hg(1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa),(72.19±3.26)beats/min and(332.56±10.52)pg/ml in the observation group, which were lower than(78.59±2.33)mm Hg,(76.67±3.57)beats/min and(369.78±10.98)pg/ml in the control group(P<0.05).At 24 h after surgery,in the observation group, the venous blood oxygen content was(126.49±3.56)ml/L and MMSE score was(27.16±1.16)points,which were higher than(117.46±3.42)ml/L and(26.56±0.84)points in the control group;the cerebral arteriovenous oxygen difference was(13.85±1.62)ml/L and the cerebral oxygen uptake rate was(6.54±0.58)%,which were lower than(17.49±1.80)ml/L and(9.26±0.69)%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation has significant value in elderly patients undergoing artificial hip replacement surgery. It can alleviate postoperative pain, promote improvement in brain oxygen metabolism, and control intellectual status, thereby improving overall prognosis. It is worth promoting and applying.
