Analysis of expression levels of osteopontin and IL-17 in serum and synovial fluid of patients with osteoarthritis and their influencing factors
Objective To analyze the expression levels of osteopontin(OPN)and interleukin-17(IL-17)in serum and synovial fluid of patients with osteoarthritis(OA)and their influencing factors.Methods Patients who underwent arthroscopic surgery were selected as the study subjects,including 40 cases of osteoarthritis(osteoarthritis group)and 40 cases of joint disease(non-osteoarthritis group),with the non-osteoarthritis group as the control.The clinical data,including general data[age,gender,body mass index(BMI),disease duration],levels of OPN and IL-17 in serum and synovial fluid,score of Outerbridge cartilage injury and the score of Ayral synovitis,of the two groups was compared.The influencing factors of osteoarthritis were analyzed.Results There were no significant differences in age,gender,BMI and course of disease between the two groups(P>0.05).In osteoarthritis group,the serum IL-17 was(366.24±90.17)pg/ml,the serum OPN was(4.92±0.87)ng/ml,IL-17 in synovial fluid was(377.46±87.24)pg/ml,the score of Outerbridge cartilage injury was(20.03±3.11)points,and the score of Ayral synovitis was(60.46±20.12)points,which were significantly higher than(237.24±60.04)pg/ml,(0.97±0.35)ng/ml,(256.46±65.33)pg/ml,(10.03±0.03)points,and(22.13±10.35)points in non-osteoarthritis group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that serum IL-17,serum OPN,IL-17 in synovial fluid,score of Outerbridge cartilage injury and score of Ayral synovitis were all independent risk factors for the onset of osteoarthritis(OR=15.863,23.665,20.369,17.219,70.176;P<0.05).Conclusion Serum IL-17,serum OPN,IL-17 in synovial fluid,score of Outerbridge Cartilage injury,and score of Ayral Synovitis are independent risk factors for the development of osteoarthritis,and they can be used as effective indicators for the assessment of osteoarthritis,which can provide certain clinical bases and references for the diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthritis.
