Study on efficacy of selective drug perfusion intervention for ischemic necrosis of the femoral head
Objective To study the efficacy of selective drug perfusion intervention for ischemic necrosis of the femoral head. Methods 45 patients with ischemic necrosis of the femoral head were selected, and all the patients were treated with selective drug perfusion through the internal femoral circumflex artery, the external femoral circumflex artery and the obturator artery by puncturing the femoral artery.Patients were compared for symptom improvement at 6 months,12 months, and 3 years after treatment, and for changes in pain scores before treatment,at 12 months after treatment, and at 3 years after treatment. Results In 45 patients, the pain relief at 6 months,12 months, and 3 years after treatment were(45.17±4.69)%,(57.53±5.14)%,and(66.73±5.96)%,and the improvement of the range of motion of the affected limbs were(0.95±0.16),(1.53±0.19),and(1.74±0.14)grades,and the improvement of the distance of pain-free walking were(0.82±0.18),(1.41±0.22),and(1.56±0.28)grades.The pain relief, improvement of the range of motion of the affected limbs and improvement of the distance of pain-free walking at 3 years after treatment were all greater than those at 6 and 12 months after treatment;the pain relief, improvement of the range of motion of the affected limbs and improvement of the distance of pain-free walking at 12 months after treatment were all greater than those at 6 months after treatment;the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The visual analogue scale(VAS)score was(7.14±1.97)points before treatment,(3.17±1.24)points at 12 months after treatment,and(2.11±0.74)points at 3 years after treatment. The VAS score at 3 years after treatment was lower than that before treatment and 12 months after treatment, and the VAS score at 12 months after treatment was lower than that before treatment. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Selective drug infusion intervention has a significant effect for the treatment of ischemic necrosis of the femoral head, which can effectively regulate the blood supply of the femoral head, alleviate the degree of hip joint pain, and improve the hip joint function and range of motion of patients. It is a more effective conservative treatment for ischemic necrosis of the femoral head.
