Research progress on correlation of endometrial polyp with insulin resistance
Endometrial polyp(EP)is a common benign disease among women of reproductive age, which can lead to abnormal uterine bleeding and infertility. However, most patients have no obvious symptoms and are diagnosed only during the examination of ultrasound or hysteroscopy. At present, the etiology of EP has not been identified.Research suggests that the high-risk population includes patients with metabolic abnormalities such as obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia.Accordingly, insulin resistance(IR)seems to play an important role in the occurrence and development of EP,which may be related to the abnormal expression of insulin receptor and downstream signal pathways. This article reviews the relationship between EP and IR.
