Analysis of the clinical effect of chymotrypsin in the treatment of suppurative wounds
Objective To explore the clinical effect of chymotrypsin in the treatment of suppurative wounds. Methods 180 patients with suppurative wounds were selected, and were divided into an observation group and a control group according to the different dressing change methods, with 90 patients in each group. In the control group, after the routine dressing change, the saline-soaked sterile gauze was applied for wet compress of the wounds. As for the observation group, after the routine dressing change,chymotrypsin-soaked sterile gauze was applied for wet compress of the wounds. The wound healing time, frequency of dressing changes, total cost of dressing change, and degree of wound pain were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group had shorter wound healing time of (15.0±3.8) d than (23.0±5.9) d in the control group, less frequency of dressing changes of (10±2) times than (14±3) times in the control group, and less total cost of dressing changes of (515.8±165.5) yuan than (825.6±205.3) yuan in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the visual analogue scale (VAS) score in both groups was lower than that before treatment, and the VAS score of (2.32±1.34) points in the observation group was lower than (3.50±1.25) points in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Chymotrypsin has shown a satisfactory clinical effect in treating suppurative wounds and helps to promote incision healing, reduce the frequency of dressing changes, lessen the financial burden and relieve the pain of patients,so it is worthy of a promoted clinical application.
