Clinical efficacy analysis of blue light irradiation combined with chiropractic therapy in the treatment of neonatal pathological jaundice
Objective To analyze the clinical effficacy of blue light irradiation combined with chiropractic therapy in the treatment of neonatal pathological jaundice. Methods 60 newborns with pathological jaundice were divided into an observation group and a control group using random lottery method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with blue light irradiation+chiropractic therapy, and the observation group was treated with chiropractic therapy based on the control group. The duration of jaundice, number of bowel movements, hospitalization time, serum bilirubin indicators[total bilirubin (TBIL),indirect bilirubin (IBIL),direct bilirubin (DBIL)],milk intake and jaundice index were compared between the two groups. Results In the observation group, the duration of jaundice was (5.08±1.12) d and the hospitalization time was (6.42±0.80) d,which were shorter than (7.05±1.43) and (8.35±1.04) d in the control group;the number of bowel movements of (4.07±1.59) times/d was higher than (2.55±1.16) times/d in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the observation group had TBIL of (130.56±30.28) μmol/L,IBIL of (122.54±13.05) μmol/L and DBIL of (8.01±1.71) μmol/L,which were lower than (165.42±31.20),(152.83±14.60) and (9.92±1.80) μmol/L in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the observation group had more milk intake of (842.51±56.32) ml/d than (705.90±52.19) ml/d in the control group, and lower jaundice index of (3.68±1.20) mg/dl than (5.37±1.05) mg/dl in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of pathological jaundice in newborns, the combination of blue light irradiation and chiropractic therapy can increase the milk intake, promote the resolution of jaundice, and accelerate the recovery of the condition.
