Observation on the effect of Houpo Paiqi Mixture combined with Shutaiqing on the quality of bowel preparation before painless colonoscopy
Objective To evaluate the effect of Houpo Paiqi Mixture combined with polyethylene glycol electrolytes powder(trade name:Shutaiqing)on the quality of bowel preparation before painless colonoscopy.Methods A total of 100 patients undergoing painless colonoscopy were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group by envelope method,with 50 patients in each group.The observation group was given oral administration of Houpo Paiqi Mixture combined with Shutaiqing,while the control group was given oral administration of Shutaiqing.The intestinal cleanliness,lesion detection rate,drug tolerance,incidence of adverse reactions and time of first defecation were compared between the two groups.Results The observation group had 19,29,and 2 patients with grade Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ intestinal cleanliness,respectively,while the control group had 8,34,and 8 patients,respectively.The intestinal cleanliness of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the overall detection rate of lesions between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in drug tolerance between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions of 26%in the observation group was lower than 60%in the control group(P<0.05).The time of first defecation of(0.62±0.25)d in the observation group was shorter than(1.80±0.87)d in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Application of Houpo Paiqi Mixture combined with Shutaiqing in bowel preparation before painless colonoscopy can effectively improve bowel cleanliness,accelerate the excretion of feces in the bowel,shorten bowel preparation time to a certain extent,and reduce patient discomfort.
