Experience in the treatment of colon cancer with acute intestinal obstruction in the elderly
Objective To analyze the clinical treatment methods and therapeutic effects of elderly patients with colon cancer and acute intestinal obstruction.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical treatment measures and effects of 27 elderly patients with colon cancer and acute intestinal obstruction.Results All 27 patients underwent surgical treatment,including 17 patients with preoperative complications,15 patients underwent one-stage resection anastomosis,6 patients underwent tumor resection proximal mesenteric stoma distal closure two-stage anastomosis,2 patients who underwent ileo-transverse colonic anastomosis,and 4 patients underwent simple colostomy surgery;After surgical treatment,12 patients(44.4%)developed complications,1 patient died due to intestinal perforation,abdominal infection combined with toxic shock,and ultimately multi-organ failure triggered death,and the remaining patients were all discharged from the hospital after recovery.The average operation time of the 27 patients was(194.0±38.8)min,the average amount of blood loss was(185.4±71.5)ml,the average recovery time of intestinal function was(2.4±0.6)d,and the average length of hospital stay was(11.2±1.5)d.Conclusion For elderly patients with colon cancer and acute intestinal obstruction,it is necessary to strengthen the corresponding perioperative management work,carefully choose surgical plans based on the overall condition of the elderly patients,in order to achieve ideal treatment results and maximize the protection of the life safety and quality of life of elderly patients with colon cancer and acute intestinal obstruction.
