Study on clinical efficacy and safety of TESSYS technique in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation with ossification of the ligamentum flavum
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of transforaminal endoscopic spine system(TESSYS)technique in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation with ossification of the ligamentum flavum. Methods TESSYS technique was used to treat 50 cases of lumbar disc herniation with ossification of ligamentum flavum. The visual analogue scale(VAS)score for low back and leg pain, and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)score were compared before and after surgery to analyze the clinical efficacy. Results Preoperatively and at 3 d,3 months and 6 months postoperatively, the VAS scores for low back pain were(6.00±2.06),(4.25±0.62),(2.41±0.50)and(1.44±0.56)points,and the VAS scores for leg pain were(6.64±1.75),(3.79±0.82),(2.39±0.50)and(1.30±0.53)points;the VAS scores for low back and leg pain at 3 d,3 months and 6 months postoperatively were lower than those preoperatively, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).The ODI score was(69.56±18.82)points preoperatively,(38.25±10.61)points at 3 d postoperatively,(25.59±6.81)points at 3 months postoperatively,and(14.48±4.20)points at 6 months postoperatively. The ODI scores at 3 d,3 months and 6 months postoperatively were lower than that preoperatively, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).At the last follow-up,36 patients were excellent,8 patients were good,5 patients were fair, and 1 patient was poor, with an excellent and good rate of 88%.Conclusion TESSYS technique is effective in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation with ossification of the ligamentum flavum, and it can quickly alleviate low back and leg pain, restore neurological function, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
