Study on clinical efficacy of floating needle therapy in the treatment of cervical spondylosis
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of floating needle therapy in the treatment of cervical spondylosis. Methods 61 patients with cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into an acupuncture group(31 cases)and a floating needle group(30 cases). Both groups of patients received basic treatment of health education and cervical self exercise therapy. The acupuncture group received routine acupuncture treatment, while the floating needle group received floating needle therapy. The scores of Northwick Park neck pain questionnaire(NPQ)and visual analogue scale(VAS)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results At the 2nd and 4th week of treatment and follow-up,the NPQ scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment;the NPQ scores were(13.400±1.241),(10.633±1.306)and(11.233±1.169)points in the floating needle group, which were lower than(17.548±1.221),(13.774±1.088)and(14.129±1.150)points in the acupuncture group(P<0.05).At the 2nd and 4th week of treatment and follow-up,VAS scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment;the VAS scores were(3.200±0.263),(2.483±0.252)and(2.567±0.210)points in the floating needle group, which were lower than(4.516±0.259),(3.387±0.247)and(3.397±0.207)points in the acupuncture group(P<0.05).Conclusion Floating needle therapy for the treatment of cervical spondylosis can quickly alleviate the symptoms of neck pain in patients, improve the overall function of the cervical spine, and have a significant therapeutic effect.
