Correlation analysis and predictive value of serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 expressions with cerebral vasospasm after inter-ventional embolization in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of serum Caspase-8 and soluble inter-cellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)and cerebral vasospasm after interventional embolization in patients with aneu-rysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Methods 208 patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage treated in our hos-pital from August 2019 to October 2021 were selected.According to different degrees of cerebral vasospasm after inter-ventional embolization, the patients were divided into 121 cases in the non cerebral vasospasm group,25 cases in the mild cerebral vasospasm group,42 cases in the moderate cerebral vasospasm group and 20 cases in the severe cerebral vasospasm group.5 mL of fasting elbow venous blood was collected before,3 days and 7 days after interventional embo-lization.The levels of serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results The levels of serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 were significantly higher at 3 days and 7 days after operation than those before operation, and the levels of serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 at 7 days after operation were significantly lower than those at 3 days after operation(P<0.05).Compared among groups, the serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 levels of pa-tients with severe cerebral vasospasm were significantly higher than those of patients with moderate cerebral vasospasm and mild cerebral vasospasm at 3 days and 7 days after operation, and the serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 levels of pa-tients with mild cerebral vasospasm, moderate cerebral vasospasm and severe cerebral vasospasm were significantly higher than those of patients without cerebral vasospasm, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Pearson correlation a-nalysis showed that serum Caspase-8 was positively correlated with sICAM-1 3 and 7 days after interventional emboli-zation.ROC curve analysis showed that serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 were of high application value in predicting cer-ebral vasospasm(P<0.01)3 days after interventional embolization; The AUC value and sensitivity of Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 were the highest. Conclusion The expression levels of serum Caspase-8 and sICAM-1 in patients with aneu-rysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral vasospasm after interventional embolization are significantly increased. The combined detection has high predictive value for cerebral vasospasm.
