Research Progress on Mitochondrial Autophagy and Its Impact on Viral Infection
Mitophagy is a crucial mechanism for maintaining mitochondrial quality and function by eliminating excess and damaged mitochondria. It is associated with various physiological and pathological processes, including apoptosis, innate immunity, inflammation, cell differentiation, signal transduction, and metabolism.Mitophagy is sensitive to changes in the external environment of cells.Viruses(such as PRRSV,CSFV,and SARS-CoV-2)invade host cells and can influence mitophagy to evade immune responses and promote extensive replication of progeny viruses. This paper systematically discusses the pathways and mechanisms of mitophagy and its role in viral infections, aiming to provide a reference for the prevention and control of related diseases.
