Comparative Analysis of Two Methods for Predicting Soil Erosion:Taking the First Phase of the Flood Control&Drainage Gate Control Project in the Green Valley Area of Jiashan,Zhejiang as an Example
Accurate prediction of soil erosion is a key step in preparing soil and water conservation plans, which directly affects the selection and implementation of soil erosion prevention measures and monitoring methods.Taking the first phase of the flood control and drainage outlet control project in the Green Valley area of Jiashan,Zhejiang as an example,it predicts the amount of soil erosion in the project using SL 773-2018 Guidelines for Calculating Soil Erosion Losses in Production and Construction Projects(referred to as Guidelines)and analogical analysis method, and compares the prediction results of the two methods. The results show that the new(structural)building area and temporary soil stacking area are the main areas of soil erosion in the project, and most of the soil erosion occurs during the construction period. The prediction results of the two methods are close, and the relative error of the Guidelines is less than 25%compared to the analogical analysis method. The prediction results of the Guidelines are relatively conservative, but the accuracy is generally controllable, which can be well applied to water conservancy point-like projects.
