Separating transit traffic and accommodating some origin-destination traffic in long tunnels is an effective means to alleviate congestion in urban centers,enhance road network capacity,and improve urban transportation and the environment.It first analyzes the current transportation characteristics and existing problems in the central urban areas of domestic cities,and studies the planning and design cases of underground roads in central urban areas at home and abroad;secondly,based on the planning and overall design of several long tunnels in Shanghai,summarize the lane size,clearance,lane width,construction method selection,entrance/exit ramp layout schemes,and organizational forms of entrance/exit ramps for general long tunnels.The study systematically expounds the main technical standards,construction scale,and construction method selection of long tunnels,and analyzes the design scheme of entrance/exit ramps for long tunnels,aiming to provide reference ideas for the overall design of long tunnels in urban central areas.
