A sample of 798 hearing-impaired adolescents were surveyed using the Parental Autonomy Scale,Self-Acceptance Questionnaire,Peer Support Scale and Chinese Health Questionnaire to examine the relationships between parental autonomy support and mental health problems of hearing-impaired adolescents,as well as the mediating role of self-acceptance and the moderated effect of peer support. The results showed that:(1)Higher levels of parental autonomy support,self-acceptance,and peer support were associated with fewer mental health problems among hearing-impaired adolescents.(2)Self-acceptance mediated the relationship between parental autonomy support and mental health problems among high school students and vocational school students, and peer support moderated the association between self-acceptance and mental health problems among vocational school hearing-impaired students. This study revealed the effect of parental autonomy support, peer support and self-acceptance in reducing the mental health problems of hearing-impaired adolescents,as well as the difference in grade. It was found that high peer support can alleviate the mental health problems of vocational school students with hearing impairment and low self-acceptance.This study provides useful evidence for the prevention and intervention of mental health problems of hearing-impaired adolescents at different stages.
