A Review of Empirical Research on School Readiness of Children with Autism at the Stage of Transition from Kindergarten to Primary School
School readiness is crucial for children with autism during their transition from kindergarten to primary school,facilitating their smooth adjustment and adaptation to the future learning environments.This review examined empirical studies on school readiness for children with autism in the transition stage,both domestically and internationally,using an evidence-based research evaluation system to assess the selected studies and analyzed the teaching content and strategies across various fields.It found that the included research provided valuable insights into the teaching and research of school readiness for children with autism in China.At the teaching level,school readiness should focus on enhancing social and life skills,while avoiding tendencies toward early academic formalization;at the research level,it is crucial to improve the quality of studies on evidence-based practices,and to emphasize both the horizontal and vertical expansion of school readiness research.
