The Influence of Physical Exercise on Suicidal Ideation in College Students with Disabilities:The Chain Mediation of Core Self-Evaluation and Life Meaning
Reducing suicidal ideation among college students with disabilities is an important prerequisite for reducing the incidence of suicidal events.Suicide is regarded as a high risk factor for the adolescent population,and as a unique group of adolescents,college students with disabilities have a high rate of detection of suicidal ideation,which is a serious.In order to gain a deeper understanding of the influencing factors of suicidal ideation among college students with disabilities,and to explore the relationship between physical exercise,core self-evaluation and life meaning and suicidal ideation among college students with disabilities,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 488 college students with disabilities using the Physical Exercise Rating Scale,the Suicidal Ideation Scale,the Core Self-Esteem Scale,and the Life Meaning Scale.The results showed that:(1)physical exercise negatively predicted suicidal ideation among college students with disabilities;(2)core self-evaluation and life meaning mediated the relationship between physical exercise and suicidal ideation among college students with disabilities;(3)core self-evaluation and life meaning mediated the relationship between physical exercise and suicidal ideation among college students with disabilities in the form of a chain.It is recommended that colleges and universities and other relevant departments should ensure that students with disabilities engage in regular physical exercise,strengthen core self-evaluation,and pay attention to the sense of life meaning in order to reduce suicidal ideation among college students with disabilities.
