Supervision is crucial in modern corporate governance and management.Through the interpretation of traditional commercial contracts,this study finds that traditional commercial organizations in China mainly resort to several main forms of supervision,which have played an important role in history,including economic punishment,ethics and morality,reputation mechanisms,and divine supervision.The current corporate supervision practice in China is not satisfactory.The supervision mechanism of traditional commercial organizations should be inherited and referred to continuously improve the efficiency of corporate governance and management.
