Strategic management is a branch of Western management theory,but strategic thoughts are not unique to the West.Through analyzing the strategic management theory history of China and comparing it with that of the West,this article concluded that strategic management philos-ophy is an understanding of strategic guidance for enterprises,an understanding of the basic domains including people,organizations and management,as well as an understanding of the basic relationships among individuals,between individuals and organizations,among organizations,and between organization and the environment.The process of Chinese modernization needs the guidance of strategic management theory,but western strategic management theories cannot directly adapt to China's management practice.It is necessary to explore the strategic management theory suitable for the Chinese modernization development path through philosophical combing and analysis of the Chinese and western strategic thoughts.
