Friendships that Changed Art:Mei Lanfang and Choi Seung-hee
Mei Lanfang is the great master of Beijing Opera,he has made significant contributions to the internationalization of Beijing Opera culture,and noted Korean dancer Choi Seung-hee has made remarkable achievements in promoting her Korean National Dance.Since the first encounter at the Cathay Hotel in 1945,the two have maintained a close friendship.Choi Seung-hee has visited China many times,with the support of the Chinese government,received Mei Lanfang's artistic guidance and influence,and achieved a perfect fusion of Korean National Dance and Beijing Opera.In this paper,the photographs,official letters and handwritten letters of Mei Lanfang and Choi Seung-hee's art exchanges are first published in the Mei Lanfang Memorial Museum.
