Objective To understand the epidemic trends and changing characteristics of syphilis in Guanyun County and provide scientific basis for formulating syphilis prevention and control measures.Methods Data on syphilis cases in Guanyun County from 2014 to 2022 were collected from the"Infectious Disease Information Reporting and Manage-ment System".Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the"three distributions"of syphilis among people,time,and regions,as well as its stages and transmission routes.Results From 2014 to 2022,1 548 confirmed cases of syphilis were reported in Guangun County,with an average annual incidence rate of 16.63/100 000,which was higher than the average annual incidence rate from 2005 to 2013(9.90/100 000),and the difference was statisti-cally significant(χ2=159.847,P<0.001).The average annual incidence rate in women was higher than that in men,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).Cases aged 18-59 accounted for 64.47%of all cases(1 141/1 548).Cases are reported every month,with the highest number reported in August(9.95%)and the lowest number reported in February(5.75%).Syphilis cases have been reported in 15 towns and streets in the county.The top five cases are Yishan Town,Yangji Town,Xiache Town,Nangang Town and Longju Town,accounting for 57.43%of the to-tal cases in the county(889/1 548).Latent syphilis was the most common(64.86%),and 96.51%of patients were in-fected through sexual transmission.Conclusion The incidence of syphilis in Guanyun County shows an overall up-ward trend.Screening of high-risk groups,control and health education in key areas should be strengthened to effec-tively reduce the incidence of syphilis.
