Application of Competency-based Teaching Model in Standardized Train-ing of Cardiology Residents
Objective To explore the effect of competency-based teaching model in the standardized training of cardi-ology residents. Methods From January 2017 to January 2023,60 residents who participated in the standardized train-ing of cardiology in Huai'an First Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University were selected as the research ob-jects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into observation group and control group,30 residents in each group. The control group implemented the traditional teaching mode, and the observation group implemented the teaching mode based on competency orientation. The assessment results, comprehensive quality, post competency and residents'satisfaction with the teaching mode were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of theoretical examination, operation examination and comprehensive quality in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The scores of each dimension of post competency in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the dif-ferences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total satisfaction with the teaching mode of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The competency-oriented teaching model is applied to the standardized training of cardiology residents, which can im-prove the theoretical and operational assessment scores and comprehensive quality of cardiology residents, and is con-ducive to the improvement of job competency, and resident physicians are more satisfied with the teaching model.
