Research on the Management Effect of the PDCA Cycle-based Manage-ment Model in the Medical Record Room and Its Impact on Coding Accu-racy
Objective To explore the effect of medical record management based on the PDCA cycle management model and its impact on coding accuracy.Methods Retrospectively selected 320 case data from the People's Hospital of Weifang Fangzi District People's Hospital,from January to December 2023,and used the routine tracking manage-ment method for case management from January to June 2023,as the control group,for the cases from July to Decem-ber 2023,used PDCA cycle management method for case management,set as the observation group,with 160 case data in each group.Ten staff of the same group were selected as study objects to compare the management effect of two groups.Results The medical record quality score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The collection time and archiving time of medical records in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The coding accuracy rate of staff in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the coding modification rate was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence rate of medical record management errors among staff in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The work situation score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Ap-plying the PDCA cycle management model to medical record room management can help reduce the occurrence of medical record management errors,optimize the quality of medical records,shorten the collection time and filing time of medical records,and improve the coding accuracy of staff.
