Exploring the Safety and Benefits of Traceability System Combined with Third-party Professional Testing in Reusable and Wearable Domestic Sur-gical Instruments
Objective to explore the application of traceability system combined with third-party professional testing in the management of reusable and wearable domestic surgical instruments,and to evaluate its safety and economic benefits.Methods 4 000 reusable and consumable domestic surgical instruments and 20 staff members from Chongq-ing University Fuling Hospital from July to December 2022 were selected to be included in Group A for daily manage-ment and maintenance of the traceability system,From January to June 2023,4 000 reusable and consumable domes-tic surgical instruments in the hospital and 20 staff members(the same batch)in the same period were selected and in-cluded in Group B to receive daily management of the traceability system and joint maintenance by a third party.The management effect of the two groups was compared.Results The frequency of device use in group A was lower than that in group B,and the maintenance cost,total wear and tear rate of instruments were higher than those in group B,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The satisfaction of staff in group A was lower than that in group B,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The traceability system combined with third-party professional testing in the management of reusable and easy-to-wear domestic surgical instruments can significantly improve the frequency of use,functional integrity and safety of instruments,while reducing maintenance costs and enhancing doctors'satisfaction with their use.
