Effectiveness of the Application of CBL Combined with PBL in the Stan-dardized Training of General Surgery Residents
Objective To analyze the effect of using case-based learning(CBL)teaching method combined with problem-based learning(PBL)teaching method in the standardized training of general surgery residents. Methods Sixty residents of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong Second Medical University who underwent standardized training from January 2020 to January 2023 were selected for the study, and were divided into a control group and a study group of 30 residents each by the random number table method. The residents in the control group applied traditional teaching method to carry out standardized training, while the residents in the study group applied CBL combined with PBL teaching method to carry out standardized training, and the teaching satisfaction and teaching effect between two groups were compared. Results The basic theory assessment scores and clinical skills assessment scores of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The teaching satisfaction scores of clinical thinking ability, literature review ability, teamwork ability,clini-cal operation skills, independent learning ability and so on of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion In the standardized train-ing of general surgery residents, the application of CBL combined with PBL teaching mode can significantly improve the effect of standardized training, enable residents to better grasp and understand the theoretical knowledge, and ef-fectively cultivate their problem-solving and independent learning ability.
