Analysis and Countermeasures of the Impact of Standardizing Blood Cul-ture Collection Methods for Nursing Staff on Preventing Blood Sample Contamination
Objective To explore the effect of standardizing the operation method of blood culture collection by nurs-ing staff to improve the accuracy of blood culture test results. Methods Ten nursing staff of the Guangxi Zhuang Au-tonomous Region Workers'Hospital and 1 900 cases of their collected patients'blood culture specimens from January to June 2022 were selected as the control group, and the standardized operation process was adopted.Ten nursing staff and their collected patient blood culture specimens of 2 992 cases in the hospital from January to June 2023 were se-lected as the observation group, and the standardized specimen collection management was adopted. The nursing staff of the two groups were the same group. The occurrence of blood culture specimen contamination and the nursing staff's work situation scores were compared between the two groups. Results The total contamination rate of the obser-vation group(2.51%)was lower than that of the control group(4.63%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.131,P<0.05).The positive rate of separation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The nursing staff work situation scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclu-sion The use of standardized specimen collection methods to manage nursing staff plays a key role in preventing blood specimen contamination.
