Analysis of Influencing Factor of Poor Vision and Referral Compliance in Children and Teenagers in a District of Shanghai
Objective To explore the influencing factors of poor vision in children and adolescents in Pudong New Area of Shanghai. Methods A total of 6 228 students who participated in the visual acuity test in the northern urban area of Pudong New Area of Shanghai from October 2022 to April 2023 were selected as the research objects, and the visual acuity test was carried out.According to the test results, they were divided into normal vision group(2 540)and poor vision group(3 688).The influencing factors of poor vision were analyzed by univariate and multivari-ate analysis. Results The detection rate of poor visual acuity was 59.20%.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that parents'poor vision, watching TV at a distance of less than 2 m or watching computer screen at a dis-tance of less than 50 cm,and using electronic products in dark environment were all risk factors for poor vision in children and adolescents(OR=1.187,1.197,1.157,1.200,all P<0.05).The protective factor was that the electronic products were used for less than 1 h and the eyes were rested after 30~40 minutes of continuous eye use(OR=0.812,0.665,both P<0.05).Conclusion Reducing the incidence of poor eyesight in children and adolescents requires the joint efforts of schools, families and society.Interventions can be developed for factors such as eye behavior and eye habits, focusing on high-risk children with a genetic basis. At the same time,we should strengthen targeted propa-ganda and education activities for teachers, students and parents to improve their awareness of prevention and control.
