Objective To understand the hygiene status of public places in Rugao area and provide scientific basis for future hygiene supervision work.Methods The microbiological laboratory of Rugao Center for Disease Control and prevention selected January 2020 to December 2023 to carry out microbiological detection on the air and public ar-ticles and appliances in some shopping malls,hotels,barber shops,bathrooms and other public places in Rugao area.Results A total of 91 public places were monitored over 4 years,with 224 air samples collected,196 of which were qualified,with an average total qualification rate of 87.91%(196/224).A total of 2 731 samples of public goods were collected,with 2 193 qualified,and an average total qualification rate of 80.30%(2 193/2 731).The qualification rate of public goods hygiene testing increased year by year,the difference was statistically significant(χ2=156.798,P<0.001).The qualification rate of public goods hygiene in shopping malls,hotels,barber shops,and bathrooms in-creased year by year,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The qualification rates of various public goods,including public elevator buttons,shopping carts,hairdressing scissors,hairdressing combs,towels,cashier counters,mouthwash cups,slippers,and bathrobes,increased year by year,the differences were statistically signifi-cant(all P<0.05).Conclusion From 2020 to 2023,the hygiene quality of various public goods in shopping malls,ho-tels,barber shops,and bathrooms in Rugao area has been increasing year by year,and the hygiene status has been im-proving.
