Observation on the Effect of PDCA Cycle in Clinical Antibacterial Drug Management Activities
Objective To explore the application effect of PDCA cycle in antimicrobial management activities.Meth-ods A total of 36 staff members in Changzhou Wujin People's Hospital from January to December 2023 were selected as the research objects.From January to June 2023,routine antibacterial drug management was adopted,and from July to December 2023,PDCA cycle management was adopted.The quality score of antimicrobial management(drug type,dosage,timing of medication,combined medication)and antimicrobial related indicators(single dose of antimi-crobial drugs,qualified rate of daily frequency of antimicrobial drugs)were compared before and after management.Results After management,the types of medication,dosage,timing of medication and combined medication scores were higher than those before the management,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After management,the qualified rate of daily frequency of antimicrobial drugs was 94.44%(34/36),and the qualified rate of single dose of antimicrobial drugs was 97.22%(35/36),which were higher than 77.78%(28/36)and 77.78%(28/36)before management,and the differences were statistically significant(χ2=4.181,4.571,both P<0.05).Conclusion The application of PDCA can improve the quality of antimicrobial drug management,optimize overall usage,effectively regulate rational drug use,and can be applied and promoted clinically.
