Discussion on Improving the Quality of Inpatient Medical Record Management with PDCA Cycle Intervention
Objective To explore the effect of PDCA cycle intervention on improving the quality of inpatient medical record management. Methods From January 2021 to December 2022,thirty staff members related to medical records in Rizhao Central Hospital were selected as the research objects. The routine medical record management mode from January to December 2021 was set as the control group, and the PDCA cycle intervention mode from January to Decem-ber 2022 was set as the observation group. Each group selected 100 medical records, and quality of medical record management,7 d medical record submission rate, medical record repair rate, medical record management error events and assessment were compared between the two groups. Results The writing level score of the observation group was 94.96±3.23,the medical record standardization was 94.23±3.22,and the writing quality was 94.63±3.51,which were higher than 86.96±4.20,86.42±4.63,and 86.33±4.20 of the control group, and the differences were statistically signifi-cant (t=8.270,7.585,8.306,all P<0.05). The 7-day medical record submission rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the medical record revision rate was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (both P<0.05). The management error events in the observation group were less than those in the control group. The passing rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusion PDCA cycle intervention measures are conve-nient to improve the quality of inpatient medical record management, reduce the probability of management error events and the rate of medical record revision, improve the rate of medical record submission and the rate of assess-ment pass.
