Effect of PDCA Circulation Management on the Quality of Nursing Care of Nurses in Outpatient and Emergency Department
Objective To implement PDCA cycle management for outpatient and emergency nurses and focus on ana-lyzing its improvement effect on nursing quality. Methods Twenty-seven nurses in the outpatient and emergency de-partment of Nanjing Liuhe District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected as the research subjects.The routine management were conducted from January to December 2022 and set as the control group. PDCA cyclemanagement mode were implemented from January to December 2023 and set as the observation group. The differ-ences in nursing quality and error occurrence between the two management methods were analyzed,and understandmanagement satisfaction. Results The nursing quality score of the observation group was higher than that of the con-trol group,and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). In terms of error events,none occurred in theobservation group,while there were a total of 6 cases in the control group,including 1 case of medication error,1 caseof improper injection and infusion operation,2 cases of inadequate disinfection and protection,and 2 cases of commu-nication and coordination errors. The observation group error events was less than the control group. The managementsatisfaction were higher in the observation group than that in the control group,and the differences were statisticallysignificant (all P<0.05). Conclusion after PDCA cycle management,the quality of nursing care in outpatient andemergency department is improved,nursing errors are reduced as well as management satisfaction were improved.
