A Study on Equitable Allocation and Spatial Characteristics of Healthcare Resources in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
Objective This study aims to analyze the equity and spatial characteristics of healthcare resource allocation in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2022,to provide references for further optimization of resource allocation. Methods The study utilizes Lorenz curves,Gini coefficient, and healthcare resource agglomeration analysis to examine the equity of healthcare resource allocation.Spatial autocorrelation analysis is employed to explore the spatial characteristics of resource distribution. Results The total amount of health resources in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is on an upward trend. The Gini coefficients of all types of health resources allocated by population in this autonomous region are less than 0.3 and that allocated by geography are in the range of[0.3,0.4).The ratios of the degree of concentration of health resources in each city and its population concentration span a wide range, among which the degree of concentration of all types of health resources in the cities of Nanning,Beihai,Qinzhou and Yulin is greater than 1.All types of health care resources in the global Moran's I index are all greater than 0.It is shown by local spatial autocorrelation results that there is spatial correlation in the allocation of health human resources and health material resources, with Yulin and Qinzhou being both high agglomeration and Nanning being high and low agglomeration. Conclusion Healthcare resources in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are primarily concentrated in economically developed areas, particularly in terms of health human resources. There is still room for improvement in the equity of resource allocation, and geographical and social development factors should be considered as important criteria for resource allocation.Resource investment should be tailored to specific regions, with strengthened cooperation between adjacent areas to narrow regional disparities and promote balanced development of healthcare resources in the region.
