Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of the mini-incision ligation of the perforator veins and percutaneous periulcer continuous ring suture for chronic deep vein thrombotic ulcer in lower limbs. Methods A retrospective case-control study was adopted.28 cases underwent mini-incision ligation of the perforator veins around ulcers from August 2022 to August 2023 were included in the observation group, and 28 cases underwent percutaneous periulcer continuous ring suture from December 2015 to December 2022 were included in the control group. It was compared of the surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, length of hospital stay,1-year ulcer recurrence rate,pre-and post-operative ulcer"TIME"wound management principle scores between the two groups. Results Both groups of patients had ulcer healing. The average surgical time of the observation group was(29.5±1.4)minutes,the average blood loss was(19.0±2.6)mL,and the average length of post-operative hospital stay was(19.2±0.2)days,while the control group was(30.3±2.5)minutes,(20.6±3.5)mL,and(20.4±0.3)days respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of average surgical time, average blood loss, and average post-operative hospital stay(P>0.05).The observation group had lower TIME scores than the control group after surgery. There were no recurrence in the observation group one year after surgery. But there were 2 cases relapsed in the control group, which were caused by incomplete ligation of the perforator veins. After re-operation of the mini-incision ligation, the patients got cured. Conclusion It is a safe, effective, and reliable surgical method of the mini-incision ligation of the perforator veins for the therapy of chronic thrombotic ulcer in lower limbs.
