Analysis of the clinical value of applying rapid paraffin section technique in pathological examination
Objective To explore the value of applying rapid paraffin section technique in pathological examination. Methods 60 patients who underwent surgical treatment and underwent pathological examination were divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 30 cases in each group.Samples in the control group were treated with routine section technique, while samples in the observation group were treated with rapid paraffin section technique. The section preparation time, section quality, diagnostic accuracy, section preparation indicators(the first and second time of paraffin immersion, transparent dehydration time, and fixed time)were compared between the two groups of patients. Results(i)Compared with the control group, the section preparation time of the observation group was significantly shorter. The section preparation time was(128.66±23.15)min in the control group and(42.59±4.30)min in the observation group, and there was statistical difference(t=20.021,P=0.000<0.05).(ii)The high-quality section rate of 96.67%in the observation group was higher than 66.67%in the control group, while the low-quality section rate of 3.33%and scrap rate of 0 in the observation group were lower than 20.00%and 13.33%in the control group, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).(iii)Compared with the control group, the diagnostic accuracy of the observation group was significantly higher, with an accuracy of 80.00%(24/30)in the control group and 96.67%(29/30)in the observation group, and there was statistical difference(χ2=4.043,P=0.044<0.05).(iv)The observation group had the first time of paraffin immersion of(60.96±4.24)min,second time of paraffin immersion of(90.82±6.29)min,transparent dehydration time of(30.90±1.22)min,and fixed time of(60.29±2.38)min,which were significantly shorter than(89.83±5.36),(154.33±8.38),(110.83±3.22),and(119.83±2.52)min in the control group, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).(v)The satisfaction rate of patients in the control group was 73.33%,while the satisfaction rate of patients in the observation group was 93.33%.The observation group was higher than the control group, and there was statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical value of applying rapid paraffin section technique in pathological examination is significantly outstanding.Compared with routine sectioning technique,it has the advantages of shorter section production time and higher section quality, which is conducive to the clinical diagnosis of pathology and gaining valuable time for the examination of patients.
